Cell phone cinema takes over Marwah Studios

A new chapter was added in the history of Marwah Studios when a flurry of activities sprang up during the 5th International festival of Cell Phone Cinema. The festival was formally launched at PHD chamber of Commerce on 19th January through a special lecture of Master Professor Karl Bardosh of Tisch school of Arts , New York University.
It was followed with a formal inauguration by Presedent Sandeep Marwah of the festival in a jam packed house where filmmakers ,TV presenters and members of the academia shared thier perception about the advent of mobile phone as a medium of audio visual creativity. The student of Asian Academy of film and television and Asian school of Media Studies showcased there flight of imagination through a variety of themes.
Speaking on the occasion, the president Said’ this year festival has reaffirmed the faith of the filmmakers in the latest version of expression and imagination through a wide range of topics and issues. It was reflected in award winning films like, Citizen Journalist by Chanchal D Roy and Living Pyres by Arvind Kumar Gupta.
According to Kalyan sarkar, Dean AAFT, six documentaries and still pictures each were awarded out of 19 short listed entries from a total of 200+ submissions.
Sundeep Koachar the Limca record maker through his astrological show on Zee TV. He is also an alumnus of the AAFT was a guest of honor at the inauguration and Prof Karl Bardosh had specially flown for the occasion.
The day long activities came to a grand finale through a colorful evening of cultural, extravaganza of dance ,drama, fashion show and music in which none other than president Marwah and Prof Bardosh walked on the ramp and enthralled the audience with his melodies number “Chandan Sa Badan”.
Cell cinema sweeps flight of imagination at AAFT

Fifth cell phone cinema festival ignited a flight of imagination both in themes and treatment as reflected in among more than 200 entries of AAFT and ASMS students of Marwah Studios. It was a visual treat that announced the arrival of the new child in the realm of entertainment and creativity.
Inaugurating this prestigious annual event that has become the signature tune of Asian Academy of Film and Television, President Sandeep Marwah said that incarnation has changed all rules and grammar of film making. Now a student can recee an idea and location, scout shots, develop and innovate the final product-all within the reach of his palm. He prophesied that the day is not far when the number of cell phones in India will touch an astronomical figure of 150 million offering a potential of making 150 crores to a film maker.
Distinguished guest of Marwah Studios and the celebrated master professor of the Tich School of the Arts, New York University said that cell has become a pen. All the film students are now carrying a camera in their pocket and shoot at will. Even a whole TV series can be uploaded on a mobile. The South Korean Golden Bear winner in the last Berlin Film Festival’s 32 minute film became a run away success at the box office courtesy mobile.
The special guest on the occasion Sandeep Kochar a former student of AAFTand known for his Limca record winning 1800-episode serial on astrology and astronomy said the time has come when you either change with time or perish. He said he dealt with science and not blind faith in stars. He advised students not to be contended but dream and achieve big in life.

With the popularity of International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema all over the World many national and international organizations have come forward to join 5th edition of the festival to be held on 19th and 20th of January at Marwah Studios, Film City Noida.

Poster For 5th International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema Launched

Film Federation Of India Will Support 5th IFCC
“There is huge requirement of new ideas in the industry, we are looking for the new subjects and festival like this at least can bring new ideas to lime light” said T.P.Agarwal President Film Federation Of India the apex film body in India while confirming FFI participation at 5th International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema.
IFCC has been planned for 19th, 20th and 21st of January where seminar, workshop and screening has been planed and young film makers are invited to participate from all over India and abroad.
IFCC was started by Sandeep Marwah of Marwah Studios in association with Karl Bardosh film director-educator of New York University six years back when first fiction was shot on mobile by Marwah Films And Video Production at Noida during Karl’s visit to India.
“We are first one in Asia to start this kind of unique exercise, which has now picked up in many countries of the World” said Sandeep Marwah. “I am thankful to FFI for appreciating our efforts” Marwah added.
IPBF Now With 5th International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema

The voluntary body taking care of commissioning of audio and visual programs to the media professionals- International Public Broadcasting Forum has joined hands with 5th International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema 2012 (IFCPC) to be held on Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st January 2012.
Entries have been invited from all over the World to participate in this very interesting film festival for the fifth time. All entries either including stills and videos must be shot by a mobile phone and can be uploaded to www.fliyo.com directly for competition.
Asian Academy Of Film And Television, a premier film and TV school in India will host the event along with International Film And Television Club at Marwah studios, film city, Noida.

IFTRC Join Hands With 5th International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema

International Film And Television Research Centre, the premier organization indulged in the research of film and television productions has joined hands with 5th International Festival Of Cellphone Cinema 2012 to support its activities.
“It is hard to believe that the ideas which you get from these three minutes films on mobile cinema from young film makers, they are out of this world” said Sandeep Marwah President of the Festival while announcing the affiliation news with IFTRC.
After four successful ventures the team of International Film And Television Club, an organization behind many festivals of the country, declared this 5th festival which is unique in its nature but now popular all over the World.
The last date of receiving the entries is 18th January and festival will take place on 20th and 21st of January 2012 at Marwah Studios Film City Noida.

International Film and Television Club (IFTC) along with Asian Academy of Film and Television (AAFT) have decided to go ahead with the 5th International festival of Mobile Cinema at Marwah Studios in the third week of January 2012
The purpose of this two days festival is to unleash the creative spark of the participants by using non traditional means of technology like the Cell Phone and create both motion and still imagery. The festival has slot for seminar, workshop by known film makers followed by Gala networking lunches and dinners
All the entries to be created by using a mobile phone. The entries should be original and not infringe on any copy right law. All body works to be sent on CD at the festival office at AAFT, Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida. The last date of registration is 18th-Jan-2012. The video length should be 3 minutes maximum.
”The film entries received from various countries will be judged by an international jury in New Delhi and the result for the 9 winner in three categories of the Cell Phone Cinema festival will be announced later” informed Sandeep Marwah President of the Festival. Results of 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema Declared
The 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema was a super hit not only with the film, television and Media students but also with the common men who were watching films with great interest held at Marwah Studios.
The results were declared in all the categories by the Chairperson of the jury Prof Karl Bardosh who specially flew down to Noida from New York. Speaking on the occasion Prof Karl gave the reference of the films made by his students of cinema at Tisch School of Arts at New York University. The Jury had Prof. kalyan Sarkar, Prof. Mansoor Naqvi, Prof. K.K.Pummi and Prof. V.S.Kanan.
The special jury award in Fiction Category went to film EHSAS by Nandan Ashish. Best Fiction to ‘SLUMDOG IN DANGER directed by Sonali Singh. The special jury mention for documentary ROUNDS ALL ROUNDS US directed by Kayyum Md. Harif Mistry and Best Documentary Award to TIRANGA directed by Kirtiman Singh. Best Message Category to THE GLIMPSES OF UNITY directed by Abhishek Kumar Maurya. Special Jury award in Best Massage category went to ROMANCING THE SKY by Varda Rizvi.
The First Award of still picture went to TARE ZAMEEN PAR by R.K.Shiva, Second to SOLITUDE by Hingul Dutta and Third to REVISITING POTHER PANCHALI by Shubra Ghosh. Special Jury Mention for still awarded to DREAMING EYES by Praveen Singh Chauhan, COMPLICATIONS by Vicky Khandur, MERA JAHAN by Manohar Rao and MEAL TIME FOR POOR & HUNGRY by Hemant. Every body was honored with the Award Certificates and the cash prize by Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.
Exhibition of Paintings By Dr.Raja Murlidhar At 4th IFCC

It is the thinking of renowned international Media Personality Sandeep Marwah that fine arts especially the knowledge of Art- Paintings add on to the esthetic sense of film maker. Keeping all that in mind a painting exhibition during 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema was inaugurated at the festival campus at Marwah Studios.

My interaction with media students have added to my knowledge on other arts like film making” said Dr Raja Murlidhar, the artist from Chennai whose exhibition received a warm welcome on the opening day.

Signature Music of Festival of Cellphone Cinema Released

The Sound and Music department of Marwah Studios comprising of students from Asian School of Media Studies and Asian Academy of Film And Television recorded and released the first version of signature tune for the 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema scheduled for 14th and 15th of January 2011 at Noida Film City.
The music has been designed and recorded by students of AAFT and ASMS under the supervision of Rajinder Gandhi renowned sound recordist and HOD Sound Department at the sound studios of Marwah Studios with the help of Radio Noida 107.4FM
“I am trying my best to give students more liberty with sound studios and equipments to develop their creativity in the music and digital sound.” informed Sandeep Marwah President of Marwah Studios.
“We have the best sound arrangements for music as well as recording backed by our own Radio Station” said Kalyan Sarkar Dean AAFT and Festival Director. Om Gupta appreciated the efforts of sound department and the students. The tune can be listened on Radio Noida in regular intervals said Brahm Prakash the radio head.

The excitement at the campus of Marwah Studios is getting higher as the poster of the 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema was released at a function attended by the management, film, television and media students of Asian Academy of Film And Television, Asian School of Media Studies, Asian School of Graphics and Animation Asian Business School, Asian School of Performing Arts at Noida Film City.

Indo Nigerian Film Association Will Promote 4th IFCC
INFA Indo Nigerian Film Association has agreed to support the forthcoming 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema fixed for 14th and 15th of January 2011 at Noida Film City.
“It is a very unique kind of festival where we expect film maker to use mobile phone camera to shoot his film” said Sandeep Marwah President of the 4th IFCC “ we want to promote the sense of film making and instance response within masses to something different which is happening around you” Marwah added.
The two day festival will take place at Marwah Studios at Noida Film City. Any person can join this festival as there is no entry fee. The Governing Council of Indo Nigerian Film Association will also promote this festival in Nigeria and request for the entries from there.
There will be a seminar and workshop on the first day and screening of films their judgement and awards on the second day which will be followed by a gala dinner.
Mahatma Gandhi Forum joins Festival of Cellphone Cinema
The management of Mahatma Gandhi Forum decided to contribute to the 4th International Festival of Cellphone Cinema to be held on 14 and 15th of January at Noida Film City. The festival organized by International Film and Television Club inaugurated by the renowned writer, producer, editor and director N.Chandra who has given some of the finest films like Ankhush, Tezab, Pratighat, Narasimha, Humlaa, Beqabu, Yeh Mera India etc and presided over by American film director Karl Bardosh.

Goonj, a voluntary association born at Marwah Studios by the young enthusiastic school and college students of different parts of the country to spread the message of peace all over the India and across its boundaries. “We are young but we have vision, we may not have resources but we have enthusiasm, we want to carry the message of peace through media as well” said Mehul Mittra the young president of this new born organization while welcoming the guest of the day .

3rd International Festival of Cell phone Cinema Poster Launched 2010

The popularity of Cell Phone Cinema festival is increasing day by day. “We are excited that the third festival of Cell Phone Cinema is fixed for the 3rd week of January and many renowned film makers have agreed to be there with us in Noida Film City” said Sandeep Marwah president of Marwah Studios while releasing the first poster of the festival.
The young crowd of film makers lined up to collect the entry forms from the festival office. “The concept is so different that it has to attract the upcoming film makers of the world” said Prof Karl Bardosh of New York University. The last date to receive entries is 15th January and films which are to be received in any three categories can be uploaded at www.batchbuzz.com. The categories are Fiction/Music Video, News Gathering and a Still Photo.

3rd International Festival of Cell phone Cinema 2010 Announced
International film and television club along with Asian Academy of Film and Television AAFT have decided to go ahead with the third International festival of mobile cinema at Marwah Studios in the third week of January 2010 informed Sandeep Marwah, the festival president.
“We are ready for the show again, idea is to promote young talent who are keen in expressing them selves through this cheapest mode of cinema that is mobile.” said Marwah announcing 3rd festival. There will be three categories of fiction and music video, reality or electronic media and still image. The total prize money will be around 2000 US dollars.
There are few rules of the competition, all entries to be created using a mobile phone. The entries should be original and not infringe on any copy right law. All work to be either uploaded on batchbuzz.com or the body of work can be sent on CD at the festival office—Marwah Studio, FC 14/15, Film City, Sector 16A, Noida 201301,U.P., India. The decision of the festival president will be final and binding to all the participants of cell phone cinema festival.
The film entries received from various countries will be judged by an international jury in New Delhi and the result for the 3 winner of the Cell Phone Cinema festival will be announced later .The list of the film entries, qualified for the finals, will be disclosed through the Internet.

Answering questions Shubh said that filmmakers indeed have a great opportunity to communicate with the masses and to convey message laced with entertainment. He was the view that each film could deal with at least one cause for the elimination of evils prevalent in the society and to make it a happy, healthy and balanced one. Asserting that by and large films are inspired by the life around us, Shubh said his first film Assma is a real life drama. The producer of the feature film Shakti Mukherjee said that talented and passionate film professionals could create their own space in the show world even without a god father. Addressing the large gathering on this occasion Atul Vyas of Indo-American Chamber of Commerce said that the initiative taken by Sandeep Marwah to promote cell phone cinema really ahead of time. Cell phone and the related technological developments have enabled every citizen of the world to make and watch movies anywhere and at anytime he added. the first poster of the festival was launched by the most popular officer of the Indian Film Industry Supran Sen, the Secretary General of The Film & Television Producers Guild of India Ltd. and Film Federation Of India, which is the apex body of the film industry and which has 59 other trade bodies like various producers, distributors, studio owners, and theatre owners as its members and completed 50th year of its existence.
